Things to Do

With never-ending entertainment for both adults and kids, Prosper offers those who live here the small-town experience with the big-town attractions. 

The parks and recreation department in Prosper provides access to recreational opportunities for adults and kids of all ages. Prosper has over 19 parks to choose from to spend an afternoon enjoying a picnic or watching the kids run and play. 

The largest is Frontier Park, which offers family-friendly attractions that provide the entire family with endless amounts of fun. The park is known for its sports complex, which features soccer fields, softball and baseball fields, batting cages, a walking trail, a catch and release pond, picnic areas, and community splash pads. 

Nestled in the town of Prosper is Gentle Creek Country Club. This upscale golf and lifestyle community offers a fine dining experience, golf programs and clinics for juniors, and an equestrian facility for those looking to enhance their communication and relationship with their horse. 

Prosper also enjoys playing host to several annual events, including the yearly tree tour. Sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department, the walking tree tour allows residents to meet in the park to learn about the trees that bloom in late spring, as well as community history and fun facts. 

Another local favorite is the Prosper Community Picnic that celebrates community and small-town spirit. The picnic serves as an opportunity for the Prosper residents to remember the history of celebrating the fall harvest. The annual picnic includes a petting zoo, pony rides, inflatable games, slides, obstacle course, and face painting.

The mission of the school district is to develop and graduate academically motivated and prepared individuals who will make contributions to society. The district currently educates more than 16,800 students in 17 schools, including 12 elementary schools, four middle schools, and two high schools.
